City of Assomada, Cape Verde, where we attended a ceremony of “Batuqueiras” (Band of percussionist women). The batuque is probably the oldest musical genre in Cape Verde.

Kwame Sousa' studio. Kwame lives and works in Sao Tome, but regularly exhibits his work in Africa, Europe and the USA.

“Dança Congo”, one of the Sao Tome’s most popular dramatic ceremony in Sao-Tome. The performance took place at Angolares, south of the island, the place by excellence for  “Dança Congo”. It's is a combination of music, dance and theatre.

Sea trip with Marapa

After one-hour sail on calm waters, we had the chance to see a group of 100/150 dolphins. There are many species of whales, dolphins, porpoises and turtles, and with a little luck it is possible to observe them. 

An information session organized by Bastien from Marapa about all the different marine species in Sao Tome and Principe.

Marapa whose motto is to serve, is aimed at the sustainable development of artisanal fisheries, through support to local fishing communities, the fight against poverty among coastal communities, the dissemination of combined technologies, environmental management of coastal , promotion of trade organizations and development of alternative development of artisanal fisheries in Sao Tome and Principe.
